British Guardianship is proud to be accredited by AEGIS (The Association for the Education and Guardianship of International Students), the leading regulatory body for UK guardianship organisations. This accreditation is a recognised mark of quality, safeguarding and care, giving families and schools confidence in the support we provide.

BSA Certified Guardian 2024-2027

British Guardianship is a BSA Certified Guardian for 2024-2027. BSA Group comprises BAISIS (British Association of Independent Schools with International Students), BSA (Boarding Schools’ Association), HIEDA (Health in Education Association), SACPA (Safeguarding and Child Protection Association) and TIOB (The Institute of Boarding). Also found within the group are SBF (State Boarding Forum) and BSA Legal Services Ltd, a subsidiary of BSA Group Services Ltd.

BSA Group’s mission is to support excellence in boarding, safeguarding, inclusion and health education. BSA Group delivers services for more than 1,600 organisations and individuals in 40 countries worldwide.

British Boarding Schools Network Approved Agent

British Guardianship holds Approved Agent status with the British Boarding Schools Network, the professional membership network connecting leading UK boarding schools with trusted agents and guardianship providers worldwide. Approved Agent status is granted only to organisations that demonstrate professional integrity, sector knowledge and a genuine commitment to the welfare of international students.

For parents and schools, this approval is further independent confirmation that British Guardianship works to the standards expected by the UK boarding school community, and that our placement and guardianship advice is delivered by a recognised, vetted partner.

Accredited by British Council

All our staff who work directly with students are UK Certified Agents through the British Council. This certification demonstrates their knowledge of UK education standards and commitment to supporting students professionally. It means every family working with British Guardianship is advised by certified educational counsellors whose training and status can be independently checked at any time.

UK Agent Quality Framework

We, British Guardianship, are committed to the principles of the AQF, as set out in the National Code of Ethical Practice for UK Education Agents and the requirements for UK education providers on the register of licensed student sponsors. This commitment to the AQF can be demonstrated through our agent provider contracts and our continued engagement with education providers to ensure the UKVI Student Sponsor Licence responsibilities are met.

We will ensure that all our counsellors serving UK-bound students complete the British Council’s UK agent and counsellor training and are individually certified for their knowledge and awareness of the UK as a study destination. We will use the AQF Good Practice Guide for UK Education Agents Partnering for Quality to adopt sector-wide best practices, and share the AQF Student and parent guide to choosing an education agent with our students to promote transparency and knowledge.

Member of Study First Group Network

Study First Group is a professional international education consultancy offering free and impartial advice and support to overseas students wishing to continue their studies outside of their home country.
