Summary

British Guardianship has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying and cyberbullying, ensuring all concerns are treated as safeguarding matters. The policy applies to students in all settings, including homestays, travel, and online spaces. It outlines clear definitions, prevention strategies, and reporting routes for students, parents, and staff. All concerns are addressed promptly by trained safeguarding leads, with appropriate actions ranging from early support to formal intervention. The policy also emphasises student wellbeing, parental involvement, and ongoing monitoring to maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for every student.

To make sure this policy always reflects the highest standards of student care, it is reviewed and updated every year in line with UK safeguarding requirements and the standards set by our accrediting bodies, AEGIS and the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA). This annual review ensures our approach keeps pace with changes in legislation, official guidance, and best practice, including the evolving nature of online risks, so that students, parents, and schools can be confident our procedures remain current and effective.
