Emergency Plan

Ensuring a fast, coordinated response to protect every student in any emergency.

Summary

This Emergency Plan outlines how British Guardianship responds quickly and effectively to situations affecting student safety and wellbeing. It covers a wide range of incidents, including medical emergencies, safeguarding concerns, missing students, travel disruption, and major incidents. With a 24/7 emergency line, clearly defined roles, and structured procedures, all staff, homestays, and coordinators are trained to act promptly. The plan ensures clear communication with parents, schools, and authorities, while maintaining accurate records and ongoing support. Regular reviews and training help ensure every student receives safe, consistent care at all times.

To make sure this policy always reflects the highest standards of student care, it is reviewed and updated every year in line with UK safeguarding requirements and the standards set by our accrediting bodies, AEGIS and the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA). This annual review ensures our approach keeps pace with changes in legislation, official guidance, and best practice, including the evolving nature of online risks, so that students, parents, and schools can be confident our procedures remain current and effective.
