Summary

British Guardianship is committed to protecting students from radicalisation, extremism, and terrorism as part of its safeguarding responsibilities. This policy outlines Prevent Duty obligations, promotes British values, and explains how to recognise early warning signs. All staff and host families are trained to identify concerns and report them immediately through clear safeguarding procedures. Risks may arise both online and offline, and concerns are handled in partnership with relevant authorities. The policy ensures early intervention, appropriate support, and a coordinated response to keep every student safe.

To make sure this policy always reflects the highest standards of student care, it is reviewed and updated every year in line with UK safeguarding requirements and the standards set by our accrediting bodies, AEGIS and the Boarding Schools' Association (BSA). This annual review ensures our approach keeps pace with changes in legislation, official guidance, and best practice, including the evolving nature of online risks, so that students, parents, and schools can be confident our procedures remain current and effective.
